Tashina Migwans-Odjig

Tashina Migwans-Odjig is a proud Anishinaabe 3 fires Native from Mnidoo Mnising (Home of the Great Spirit), on Manitoulin Island. Throughout her career, Tashina has worked hard to support First Nations people right to self-determination. Tashina has worked directly in community, both on and off reserve, but also within Indigenous Organizations who provide support services, technical services, and advocacy supports to First Nations in Ontario.
Tashina worked as a Oshkaabaywish (helper), working with Elders and youth in her home community to provide program supports, including language and culture activities. To further her education, Tashina pursued a career in Indigenous Business & Fashion and she completed the Indigenous Entrepreneurship program with Canadore College. She was also taught and learned how to operate a small business with Mize we biik, Aboriginal Best training with the NCCT, and the George Brown College Fashion Exchange Program.
With lived experience, Tashina has grown to become a proud and passionate Oshkaabawish (helper). She is committed to helping Indigenous peoples seeking to start businesses, and more generally, those with a cultural and entrepreneurial spirit. Tashina is a proud mother and works on a freelance basis as an artist and designer and has designed for many notable Indigenous people, including the former Regional Chief of the Chiefs of Ontario (COO).
