The Buffalo Tribune [TBT] is an indigenous-owned alternative media source based in Edmonton, Alberta. We cover a wide variety of contemporary issues including Western Canadian concerns, federal and provincial politics, Canada’s changing place in the international sphere and Indigenous politics (with an emphasis on Alberta First Nations, but including those the nation over). Indigenous Canadians have shown tremendous progress in recent years and we strive to give a voice to Indigenous political candidates at both the national and provincial level.
The First Nations, the Métis and Inuit occupy a special place in Canada, and The Buffalo Tribune has covered light and hard news concerning issues in indigenous communities from an outside perspective. We seek to guarantee that Indigenous leaders are held accountable to the people they represent.
Indigenous politics is of an increasing importance in Canada, and we affirm that informing the public of these matters will help educate Canadians and stimulate a greater incorporation of Indigenous issues into the public discourse.
