Gabby Maybelle Consulting

Gabby Maybelle Consulting’s Principal, Gabby Hillis, is an urban Gitxsan and Skatin First Nations woman and mother to an incredible special needs child, who resides on the traditional, unceded Coast Salish territories. With a range of lived experiences, Gabby has a strong sense of the impacts that colonization has on Indigenous peoples in Canada. With vast knowledge of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, and Human Rights, she seeks innovative ways to address these impacts using big picture thinking, leading to innovative long-term planning, program development, and increased organizational capacity. Since completing her BA in Psychology with Honours in 2009, she has been dedicated to developing programs and services in the non-profit sector that meet the unique needs of urban Indigenous peoples of all ages and backgrounds, with a trauma-informed, strength-based, and person-centered lens.
