About Aniko Consultants Inc.

Aniko Consultant Inc. is an Aboriginal Company initially formed to assist foreign companies (US & European) in identifying and implementing Industrial Regional Benefits (IRB) and Aboriginal Benefits projects in Canada by partnering with Aboriginal communities and industries.

When Industry Canada decided to exclude Aboriginal Benefits from IRB, Aniko consultants suspended its commercial activities to loby in favor of reinstating AB with IRB. The purpose of Aniko was always and still is to create jobs and opportunities for Aboriginal people and companies. Aniko is a member of the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business (PSAB) of AADN that has the mandate to create strengthened strategic partnerships between Aboriginal business owners, industry sectors and the Government of Canada. Through the PSAB, Aboriginal businesses benefit economic development in Canada while further cultivating their skills and values.

There are many qualified workers in Kitigan Zibi that could be hired by the lead contractor and/or its subs to assist in this project. Also, the Lead could create career opportunities for community residents by providing them with training and professional certification.
