TFAB Aboriginal Business Networking Event – Calgary

Join our TFAB program’s 10th Aboriginal Business Networking Event. TFAB (Tools and Financing for Aboriginal Business) Networking Events provide valuable networking opportunities between a variety of corporations and Aboriginal businesses. This event will feature a special keynote address from Kiruba Sankar, Director-CSR, Global Procurement, on the subject of “RBC Supplier Diversity Journey and RBC Procurement Process.

Beverages and canapes included with registration.

TFAB Aboriginal Business Networking Events are held in a variety of locations across Canada to:

  • Create a space for Aboriginal entrepreneurs to connect with likeminded peers

  • Provide Aboriginal entrepreneurs and businesses with the opportunity to grow their professional networks and profile through connecting with CCAB corporate members and other organizations committed to Aboriginal business

  • Provide opportunities to learn more about what it takes to succeed as an entrepreneur from special guest speakers.

Kiruba Sankar

Director, Corporate Social Responsibility – RBC Global Procurement
RBC Royal Bank

As a Global Leader for Corporate Social Responsibility at RBC Procurement, Kiruba is responsible for the strategy development and execution of Supplier Diversity and Aboriginal Supplier Development Program for Global Procurement. To enable program success Kiruba works collaboratively with various procurement category managers to support supplier diversity program goal. He acts as CSR advocate with in RBC procurement and to external stakeholders & suppliers. Prior to his current role, he was Director, Procurement responsible for IT Professional Service Category supporting Technology & Operations across all business units of RBC.

Before joining RBC, Kiruba was managing the systems and server product distribution through reseller channels for Tech Data Canada. Prior to immigrating to Canada, as a general manager, he introduced Emachine Systems in the Dubai market. He was also a regional manager of Middle East operations for Taiwan’s largest systems manufacturer, First International Computers. And he set up MegaPlus International, a systems integrator company in Dubai and Sydney, Australia.

Kiruba has been honoured with Procurement Business Advocate of the Year Award by CAMSC and Corporate Leader Award by WBE Canada in recognition of his outstanding leadership in implementing Supplier Diversity in Canada.
