Digital Directions: Discussion on the findings of Google Canada’s Indigenous-led Business Poll

Published: Fall 2022

In the summer of 2022, the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) collaborated with Google Canada and the research consultancy Public First to survey Indigenous businesses to contribute to the Google Canada Economic Impact Report (EIR) for 2021. This paper outlines the findings of the poll conducted with 174 Indigenous business leaders across Canada between June 24 and July 29, 2022. CCAB compiled an extensive list of Indigenous businesses to enhance the sample. The results shed light on how Indigenous businesses utilize digital products and services and identify areas where support and research are needed for optimal digital technology utilization. The ongoing partnership between the CCAB and Google Canada focuses on assisting Indigenous businesses in adopting digital practices and building digital skills across diverse industries.
