Founded in 2000, Brook McIlroy is an award-winning architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, and planning firm with offices in Toronto, Thunder Bay, and Winnipeg. As a unique, multi-disciplinary practice, we design projects as ‘whole environments’, addressing all scales from campus visions to detailed design and construction administration of buildings, landscapes, and infrastructure. Our work translates concepts to realization, creating meaningful, cohesive, and sustainable environments through a collaborative, culturally-sensitive approach across disciplines.
At Brook McIlroy, projects are approached as partnerships with our clients. These relationships are grounded in the full participation of stakeholders and user groups throughout the design and implementation process, using imaginative and results-oriented consultation methods. Currently, Brook McIlroy has thirty-six employees with diverse backgrounds as architects, urban designers, landscape architects, planners, artists and LEED Accredited Professionals.
Vital to the impact of our role as creative professionals our staff have a unique commitment to the advancement of Canada’s cultural vibrancy and progressive social practices reflected for instance in the creation of our Indigenous Design Studio. The Indigenous Design Studio at Brook McIlroy is a critical practice area drawing together our Indigenous professionals with the firm’s larger resources to focus on projects that support the restoration of Indigenous presence in Canadian communities and institutions.
