Manitoba Hydro is a provincial Crown Corporation and one of the largest integrated electricity and natural gas distribution utilities in Canada. We are a leader in providing renewable energy and clean-burning natural gas. We also trade electricity within four wholesale markets in the Midwestern United States and Canada. Nearly all of the electricity Manitoba Hydro produces each year is renewable hydro-power.
Indigenous peoples and communities play a central role in the past, present and future of Manitoba Hydro’s business. We operate throughout Manitoba, on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Dakota, Dene, and Oji-Cree peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation, and we are committed to respecting and supporting Indigenous peoples in all aspects of our work.
