About Goodfish Lake Business Corporation

Since its inception, GFLBC has grown in several capacities, specifically in business expansion and opportunities.

From the first Dry Cleaning and Laundry facility opening in 1978, starting the industrial garment division in 1980, building a 10,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in 1989, to a new Industrial Laundry facility in Lac La Biche, GFLBC has continued to grow.

From the period 1977 to 2011, Board Member appointments consisted of members of Chief and Council; however, in 2012 and under the Chief and Council’s authority at that time, the Business Corporation underwent a significant decision to change the Board of Directors to an Independent Board to improve the corporate creditability and governance standards.  The results have been phenomenal!  The Board was capable of reversing company deficit loss and assisting the First Nation in overcoming financial constraints. The Corporation has provided the Nation with more robust financials going forward.

GFLBC is wholly owned and operated by Whitefish (Goodfish) Lake First Nation #128 and is the only First Nation business of its kind in Canada.

GFLBC has been in business for 40+ years and continues to provide employment and financial stability for its community. The current garment manufacturing, dry cleaning, and laundry have broadened their resources to produce the utmost detail towards satisfying their customers and forming long-term business relations. GFLBC has been the preferred supplier for producing and maintaining industrial garments for Suncor and Syncrude for 30+ years.

Your choice to collaborate with GFLBC impacts the entire community of Whitefish #128. It is the #1 place to put your Workwear and Workwear Maintenance spending if your goal is to impact Indigenous communities in a positive and sustainable way.

We look forward to hearing from you and getting a chance to understand your unique business needs!
