That’s why we’re committed to reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, and to Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) certification with the Canadian Council of Aboriginal Businesses.

Our natural gas and electricity utilities serve 1.2 million customers across British Columbia, including 57 Indigenous communities. Since 2001, we’ve used our Statement of Indigenous Principles to guide our words and actions when building relationships with these communities. The strength and authenticity of these relationships has resulted in community-building economic opportunities and enduring partnerships.

We understand the value of the PAR certification process as it further supports our company’s goal of strengthening our workplace culture and our business development practices. We see significant economic, social and environmentally responsible opportunities across the energy infrastructure spectrum in partnership with Indigenous communities and look forward to furthering these goals together.
