PROBLEM STATEMENT
Our political system is beyond broken. People are losing influence with and confidence in elected representatives. Corrosive and destructive discourse is driving polarization beyond just politics. It is destroying faith in our system and democratic way of life. The proof is that over 100 countries have declining democratic performance scores. Democracy replaced monarchy as the dominant form of government until 2012. For the first time since the enlightenment, democracy is retreating. Some of the best-known democracies have gone, we lost Hong Kong last year. Who is next? This is a big business opportunity to build a new social network to address this massive problem.
Democracy and medicine are both products of the #enlightenment; meaning they were invented at roughly the same time. However, unlike medicine which has evolved, from a handful of treatments (humours, leeches, tonics, and blind luck) to an unlimited number of personalized treatments whenever and wherever needed, #politics has largely remained the same; a once every few years popularity contest.
