Bruce Power is Canada’s only private nuclear generating company and the source of roughly 25 per cent of Ontario’s electricity. Formed in 2001, Bruce Power is a partnership among Cameco Corporation, TransCanada Corporation, BPC Generation Infrastructure Trust, a trust established by the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System, the Power Workers’ Union and The Society of Energy Professionals.
Located approximately 250 kilometres northwest of Toronto, we currently operate six reactor units and are in the process of restarting two more at our Bruce A generating station. Once restarted, those units will boost our total output to nearly 6,300 megawatts of emissions-free electricity.
Over its 10-year history, Bruce Power has demonstrated a strong commitment to understanding, supporting and respecting Aboriginal communities.
“Bruce Power is proud to expand our relationship with the CCAB and are committed to helping ensure Aboriginal businesses are given every opportunity to succeed,” said Duncan Hawthorne, President and CEO. “The CCAB’s mission of fostering sustainable business relations between Aboriginal people and Canadian business meshes very well with Bruce Power’s values.”
