PAR Cultural Awareness Trainer:

The Joint Economic Development Initiative’s (JEDI) Indigenous Reconciliation Awareness Module (IRAM) provides education to government, industry and private sector organizations and First Nation communities on Indigenous history and its impacts on Indigenous people to present day.

 

The Indigenous Reconciliation Awareness Module focuses on the TRC’s Call to Action #92 by providing education for Management and Staff on the history of Indigenous Peoples in Canada. Some of the topics in the IRAM training include:

  • Peace and Friendship Treaties
  • Canadian Residential Schools
  • The 60’s Scoop
  • The Foster Care system
  • Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit
  • Personal Reconciliation and Reconciliation in the Workplace

 

JEDI will help your organization to understand Indigenous history with a regional focus on New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. We will facilitate discussions on reconciliation so that you will be more effective in your communications and interactions with Indigenous Peoples. In addition, we will provide you with tips on how to implement reconciliation within your workplace to foster Indigenous inclusion.

 

PAR Facilitator:

The Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) is an Indigenous organization dedicated to supporting Indigenous participation in New Brunswick’s economy. JEDI began in 1995 and has grown into an Indigenous organization focused on working closely with its partners from Indigenous communities, organizations, government, and the private sector to foster Indigenous economic development in New Brunswick.

 

JEDI focuses its work on the support of Indigenous:

  • entrepreneurs and small businesses
  • community economic development
  • workforce development
  • partnerships with the public and private sector.

 

JEDI’s Indigenous Reconciliation Awareness Module (IRAM) provides education to government, industry and private sector organizations and First Nation communities on Indigenous history and its impacts on Indigenous Peoples to present day.

 

Aside from providing Cultural Awareness Training to clients, JEDI can offer the guidance and support to walk companies and organizations through the PAR Certification Process.
