Mashkiwizii Manido is a federally recognized Not for not-for-profit corporation that focuses on the overall health and well-being of the Urban Indigenous Population of Renfrew County and the surrounding Area in the unceded, unsurrendered Algonquin Territory. We focus on providing culturally specific services and programs developed by, implemented, and delivered by Indigenous Peoples for Indigenous Peoples and their families. These programs include mental health, addictions, palliative care programming, trauma supports, 60’s scoop, residential schools, truth and reconciliation, intergenerational trauma, impacts of colonization, and walking a journey of healing.
We are connecting and reconnecting Indigenous Community members to culture, language, traditions, and ceremonies while educating the Settler population through cultural awareness training, Kairos Blanket Exercises, Truth and Reconciliation commitments, and allyship opportunities.
