Kendra Fisher

Coordinator, Executive Office

Kendra Fisher, whose traditional name is Giigitowasse Kwe (Talking Bright Woman) is from Kettle & Stony Point First Nations. Her mother is from Kettle Point and herfather is from Chippewa of the Thames First Nation. While growing up, Kendra spent a lot of time in both communities.

After moving to Toronto in 2016, she attended the CMU College of Makeup Art & Design. After graduating and receiving her diploma, she had a flourishing career as a makeup artist in Toronto and the GTA.

Kendra always wanted to work within the Indigenous community in Toronto, so she made the career pivot with the assistance of Miziwe Biik Employment & Training. She is passionate about establishing her new career and eager to expand her knowledge at CCIB.

Currently, she is connecting more with her culture and the Indigenous community in Toronto, so she is thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of this team. She enjoys learning new things and helping others, and is eager to build connections in her work community and beyond.
