TFN Construction / Matcon Civil Joint Venture (TMJV) is the civil construction and environmental contracting firm formed in 2008 by Tsawwassen First Nation (TFN) and Matcon Civil Constructors Inc. (Matcon). TFN Economic Development Corporation (TEDC), which is wholly owned by TFN, is the majority owner of TMJV. The partnering of these two companies has allowed us to successfully bid on a number of market and First Nation priority projects, and provided TEDC access to Matcon’s capacity and reputation as one of British Columbia’s leading civil construction firms.
With over $50,000,000.00 in contracts to date, TMJV has generated significant economic benefits for TFN Members. We not only return 51% of revenues earned to TFN government, but we also create opportunities for employment, contracting, and on-the-job work experience and training for TFN Members, Member businesses and other First Nation people, through comprehensive employment and mentoring programs that are designed by us to build success within our industry.
We leverage the experience of our teams to analyze project works and schedules, and create individual opportunities for employment and job shadowing, and for the engagement of businesses within scope of services provided by us and by our subtrades including:
- Civil Site Preparation
