Prairie Creek Indigenous Group was founded in March 2019 and is an indigenous majority owned company by Mick Morrison who is from Haida Gwaii. Everyone involved in PCIG, including its members and owners have decades of experience in many different fields of construction. Our group well versed in industry, and Mick Morrison has spent the majority of his career working in the community’s building relationships between the contracting companies and the indigenous people.
It has been our vision from the beginning to bring industry and first nations communities closer together through partnerships like ours. PCIG is the conduit between Industry and the community, and also serves to help educate the communities about the services and opportunities that PCIG brings to them. Prairie Creek Indigenous group also reaches out to leading companies with our large network of colleges in various fields of industries. We only create partnerships with best in class companies, who then in turn are able to work through the PCIG agreement with the Indigenous communities. Bringing labor, training, education and revenue opportunities to the community and their companies.
With the deep wealth of knowledge that PCIG holds with all its partners; we are then able to help the communities understand what opportunities they are able to pursue from projects on their traditional lands. As well, Communities and PCIG partners can work together to network and pursue work opportunities together.
PCIG has created a consortium of companies that can all work through one agreement with the Communities whom Prairie Creek Indigenous Group has created a relationship with. This increases the opportunities for the Communities and the partners. Also minimizing paperwork and administrative burdens. With Micks wealth of knowledge, we are able to ensure that relationships stay healthy and opportunities are acted upon.
