Eric Auger & Sons Contracting Ltd. is a First Nations family owned and operated heavy equipment construction company. Located in Wabasca, Alberta, the Company has been serving Northern Alberta for over 40 years.
In 1978, Eric Auger started his first company in the logging industry. Named Auger Logging, this small company quickly received recognition for its achievements as the company grew. Eric launched his second company in 1988, Eric Auger & Son’s Contracting Ltd. Six busy years later, the new company became involved in oilfield construction and slowly removed itself from the logging industry.
EASC is also very involved with community related projects, working in conjunction with The Municipal District of Opportunity #17 and Bigstone Cree Nation to support the local economy. This is primarily achieved by employing and training local people, working with local companies, subcontracting local operators, utilizing local suppliers, and supporting numerous grassroots non-profit activities.
EASC is a key employer in the Wabasca area, averaging approximately 75 employees at any given time, and double and sometimes triple that number in the winter months. Although is it sometimes necessary for the Company to hire outside of their community, community members are given first opportunity.
