We are a Toronto area consulting engineering firm designing geostructures for new and renovation construction. Our client base includes owners, developers and contractors who require design services throughout Ontario, occasionally out-of-province and sometimes out-of-country. We offer engineering analysis, the production of shoring drawings, site inspections and field monitoring.
Isherwood was founded in 1972 by Brian Isherwood, “Fellow of the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers”, one of the top engineers in our field in North America.
We have been responsible for excavation support, retaining walls, slope stabilization, underpinning and foundations for many prominent Toronto structures, including the CN Tower, Skydome Stadium (now Rogers Centre), Royal Ontario Museum, the new Toronto Opera House, Ontario Science Centre, Pearson Airport, Don Valley Parkway, and the Toronto Subway. Similar work has been undertaken throughout Ontario, in all Canadian provinces, in various US states, Mexico and the Caribbean. We received The Deep Foundations Institute 1998 Outstanding Project award for involvement on the St. Clair River Rail Tunnel and honorable mention for RC Harris Filtration Plan project in 2006 and several Toronto Construction Association – Best of the Best Awards including Four Seasons Centre for performing Arts, the Empress Walk development, and the New Royal Conservatory of Music.
