ATCO Sustainable Communities is part of the ATCO Group of Companies which combines ATCO’s expertise in modular and pre-engineered buildings with its experience working with Aboriginal communities.
By offering turnkey solutions, we can economically design and build any facility a community may need, ranging from offices, schools and daycare centres, to residential housing, hockey arenas and gas stations. In collaboration with other ATCO companies, we may also provide supporting utility infrastructure, such as water purification plants and distributed power generation facilities.
Guided by our Holistic Engagement Process, relationship building is important to truly understand a community and create a design which reflects both its cultural and physical needs. Our approach to delivering projects takes into account the challenges of living in remote communities to ensure any investment is for the long term. This includes post-construction training of community maintenance personnel and three years of return visits to assist the community to manage and maintain the facility.
In building facilities for remote communities, we understand the importance of providing attractive, yet energy efficient, low maintenance and highly durable solutions, utilizing fire and mold resistant materials.
