Wendy Walker is Metis and M’iKMaq First Nations originally from Manitoba but has made Alberta and in particular Treaty 7 her home for many years.
Wendy Walker has been an established Artist for many years, and has been nominated for and won several awards; her most cherished one is an Esquao Award for her work in the Arts.
Wendy was one of two Indigenous Artists selected from Alberta and in fact from Canada to perform at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang at Cultural Festival. Their short but very successful tour was well received and shown on Korean Television. Calgary Mayor, Nahed Nenshi and Deputy Premier Sarah Hoffman attended one of their shows and they loved it!
Wendy has recorded two previous albums, She’s a Warrior and One light. Her next CD is due out by fall of this year.
