Leanne leads the National Aboriginal Client Services Practice for Deloitte Canada and a Partner in Enterprise Risk Services providing professional services across the country for Corporate Canada, Aboriginal Communities, Aboriginal Economic Development Corporation and their private businesses. Recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women 2013 by WXN in the Trendsetter and Trailblazer Category, Leanne is a Senior Executive with Aboriginal and Stakeholder Relations, Corporate Responsibility, Diversity and Inclusion, Aboriginal Business Development, Aboriginal Employment, Training and Skills Development, Community Investment, Community Education and Human Resources experience in the resource development and extractive industry.
Leanne holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. She uses her innovative skills to cultivate First Nations and Aboriginal community partnerships, promote engagement and encourage relationship building and is committed to building trusting and long-term relationships. Peter E. Brown is a Partner in Deloitte Canada. Peter has over 30 years’ experience in public accounting, serving clients in both the public and private sectors. He has gained significant international experience in assurance and advisory services and has extensive experience with business advisory services. Peter served as Managing Partner for Deloitte’s Atlantic Practice until 2008 when Peter relocated to Toronto to assume the role of Managing Partner and National Leader for Private Company Services. In 2011, Peter’s responsibilities were expanded to include the entire middle market for Deloitte Canada. In 2013, Peter relinquished these responsibilities and was appointed to Deloitte Canada’s Client Cabinet which is comprised of senior leaders with firm wide market responsibilities. Peter is currently the National Co-leader for Canada’s Best Managed Companies program and the Global Leader for the Global Best Managed Companies program. Peter has also served on the Board of Directors for Deloitte Canada and currently sits on the Global and Canadian Deloitte Private Executive teams.
Peter is the co-author of The Power of The Best, published in September 2012. Peter is a frequent speaker on topics of entrepreneurship and what makes Best Managed companies unique. He also has been widely quoted in the print media across Canada and is passionate about passing on the lessons learned from Best Managed companies to help make all businesses better.
Peter has been involved in United Way both in the Atlantic Region and Toronto, in Chambers of Commerce throughout Atlantic Canada, and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Sobeys School of Business. Peter also serves on the Board of the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo; on the board of the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council and on the Campaign Cabinet for Erin Oak Kids. Peter is also involved in Habitat for Humanity and served as part of a Deloitte Humanitarian Team that travelled to Brazil in October of 2011 to build homes and meet with local business leaders.
