Founder
L’nu Energy Inc. (Lennox Island, PEI)
A Mi’kmaq professional deeply committed to the preservation of land and resources, Dylan MacLennan has built a career at the intersection of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and Indigenous sovereignty. As the founder of L’nu Energy, he has leading the development of over 50 megawatts of utility-scale solar projects in Atlantic First Nations, advancing sustainable infrastructure while fostering Indigenous leadership in the energy sector.
Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences at the UPEI School of Climate Change and Adaptation, his research explores a fundamental question: “How can First Nations in Canada effectively develop pathways to net-zero emissions while preserving sovereignty over land and resources?”. This work is informed by his direct experience with community-driven clean energy projects, ensuring that academic research translates into practical solutions.
Beyond his company and research, Dylan actively contributes to national discussions on Indigenous-led sustainability as a Board Member of the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB). His expertise as a First Nations entrepreneur and engineer offers valuable insights into economic development, procurement, and clean energy transition strategies.
Dylan’s work embodies a holistic approach—bridging academic research, business leadership, and community engagement to create tangible pathways toward energy sovereignty for Indigenous Nations across Canada.
