Research Coordinator

Matthew Chegahno is a proud Ojibway from the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation. In 2019, Matthew graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in International Development, specializing in economics and political science. In the third year of his undergraduate degree, Matthew studied at the University of Lyon in Lyon, France where he was able to deepen his understanding of the French language and travel most of Western Europe.

Prior to joining CCAB, Matthew contributed to the Community and Indigenous Relations division at Bruce Power, the world’s largest operating nuclear power facility. Matthew is a strong advocate for Indigenous prosperity, placing a high degree of importance on cooperation, sustainability and understanding. Outside of the office, Matthew is usually going to the gym, buying concert tickets, or cheering on his beloved Maple Leafs.
