What is the Foundation for the Advancement
of Aboriginal Youth (FAAY)?

The Foundation for the Advancement of Aboriginal Youth (FAAY) is a scholarship and bursary program administered by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB). FAAY is dedicated to developing the next generation of Aboriginal leaders by providing them the incentive to stay in school and the financial means to pursue a higher education.

Launched in 1994, FAAY is one of CCAB's longest running programs. Since its inception, and with the generous support of our corporate partners, FAAY has assisted over 1,400 students by putting over $2.3 million directly into their hands.

FAAY is a national program and is open to candidates of First Nation (status or non-status), Métis or Inuit ancestry. The bursary program is for high school students and is designed to motivate them to stay in school. The scholarship program is for students pursuing a post-secondary education in any discipline and gives them a way to fulfill their educational goals and their dreams.

Education is the key to prosperity. It is a means to a better life and a brighter future. FAAY is a critical component for students who are beginning their journey on the road to success. And for the FAAY winners, this journey began in the isolated villages in the north; the farms and fishing ports in the east and west; and in our largest cities.

Thank you to all of the companies who help FAAY students take one more step towards prosperity!
