Supporters of CCAB are in the know of Canada’s new social and political environment as it pertains to Aboriginal people. Aboriginal issues are top of mind — more than at any other time in history — due to a radically increasing Aboriginal population; the legal requirement for businesses to consult and accommodate Aboriginal communities when pursuing business that impacts Aboriginal communities; increasing Aboriginal economic influence due to land claim settlements; and greater commitment to corporate social responsibility overall.
The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business is non-partisan and receives no core government funding. It is the only organization of its kind and has been dedicated to the full participation of Aboriginal people in the Canadian economy for 25 years. The organization is almost entirely supported through membership dues and corporate funding. Cash donations from private donors provide some additional revenue for the Council.
Corporate support is derived by:
- Program sponsorships (FAAY, ABHF, Mentorship);
- Donations of products and services in-kind (golf tournament prizes, gala dinner program printer services, etc.); and
- Fundraiser event ticket sales and sponsorships (gala dinners and golf tournaments, etc.).
CCAB delivers added value to its program participants, sponsors, and donors, by providing exclusive business support programs that help members increase their business activity in Aboriginal communities.
